INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Editorial Policy
Authors submitting a manuscript to Económica implicitly agree that the manuscript is not being simultaneously under consideration for publication at another journal. All submitted manuscripts must verse on topics related to economics, and should represent original work.
Económica publishes articles in Spanish and English.
Authors submitting an article for evaluation
Submission is electronic. Authors need to create an anonymous pdf version of the manuscript, where all identifying information has been removed, and a separate text file with their identifying information. Both files need to be sent to economica@econo.unlp.edu.ar.
The manuscript needs to be in pdf format with all fonts embedded. The title page includes the title, abstract, keywords and JEL codes. (http://www.aeaweb.org/journal/jel_class_system.html). The acknowledgements and all identifying information of the authors (name, affiliation, e-mail addresses) must be removed. Manuscripts cannot exceed 50 pages including tables and graphs.
The separate page with identifying information includes:
- Manuscript title
- Name, affiliation, address, and e-mail address of all authors
- Indicate corresponding author
- Abstract in English and Spanish (not exceeding 100 words each)
- Keywords in English and Spanish (no more than six in each language)

Style rules for papers accepted for publication
1. Authors and co-authors need to send a signed copy of the Copyright Transfer Agreement
2. Manuscripts accepted for publication should adhere to the style rules detailed below. Manuscripts need to be send it their original editable format to economica@econo.unlp.edu.ar
3. Please use A4-sized paper and keep 2.5cm (1 inch) margins on both sides, top and bottom. Use Times New Roman font for text, titles, footnotes and equations, and Arial font for tables and graphs.
4. The first page should include
Centered, single-spaced, in bold and in font size 12:
(a) Title
(b) Authors
(c) Affiliation
(d) Date that the manuscript was sent to Económica (for example, “Sent in June 2008”)
Against the left margin, in font size 11:
(e) Abstract in Spanish (no more than 100 words)
(f) Abstract in English (no more than 100 words)
(g) JEL codes (at least one and no more than three):

(h) Keywords in Spanish and English (no more than six words in each language)
(i) Footnote in font size 9 indicating the corresponding author with full postal address, the e-mail address of all authors, and the acknowledgements
5. The main text should be in font size 11, single-spaced, and with a 0.5cm indentation in the first line. Footnotes should be in font size 9 and numbered consecutively. Titles, subtitles and subsection titles should go against the left margin and be in bold. Subtitles are indicated with Roman numerals (I, II, etc.) and subsection titles with capitalized letters (A, B, etc.). References to articles or books in the text should be made as García (1993) or (García 1993). In cases of four coauthors or more, use the format Mendez et al. (1993).
6. Equations should be numbered consecutively, against the right margin, with numbers in parenthesis, (1), (2), etc.
7. The References section should come after the Conclusions and be singled-spaced, in font size 11, against the left margin, and sorted alphabetically by first author’s last name (use coauthors last names and chronological order as secondary sorting criteria). All materials should be cited in its original language of publication.

8. The Appendix should be placed after the References section and be unnumbered. Appendix equations, tables and graphs should be numbered consecutively as A1, A2, etc. In cases of multiple Appendices, they should be numbered as subsections with letters A, B, etc, and their equations, tables and graphs as A1, A2, …, B1, B2, etc.
9. Tables should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numbers (1, 2, etc.). Titles should be placed against the left margin, on top of the table area, in Times New Roman font, bold, and in size 11. Footnotes should be placed below the table area, in Times New Roman font, in size 9, and single-spaced. Graphs follow the same style format and are numbered separately from tables. To allow for editing, tables and graphs should not be inserted as pictures. |
